What is The Cliff Creator Residency?
A selective, hosted content creator residency at The Cliff Hotel and Spa in Negril, Jamaica. A small cohort of creators stays on property September 21–24 and produces original photo and video content inspired by their time at The Cliff, in exchange for their stay. It is a working residency, not a press trip.
When and where does it take place?
September 21–24 at The Cliff Hotel and Spa, a boutique cliffside hotel on the West End of Negril, Jamaica. The property sits directly on the limestone cliffs facing west, which means sunset lands on it every evening.
What does the residency include?
A hosted stay at The Cliff Hotel and Spa with access across the property: the cliffs, pools, spa, restaurant, and the cave. Your stay also includes round trip ground transportation from Montego Bay (MBJ) for our international travelers, a $100 per day food credit, and a handful of hosted events during the residency. You will have time and space to shoot freely on your own schedule, with support from the studio for any special access you need.
What is expected of me if I’m selected?
An agreed collection of original photo and video content from your stay, posts tagging The Cliff and the residency on your primary platform, and licensed use of selected content in property marketing. Exact deliverables are agreed together before you arrive, so there are no surprises.
Who should apply?
Creators who specialize in luxury travel, culinary, fashion or beauty, music, wellness, or bridal content who have a consistent visual style and an engaged audience, and who are comfortable traveling independently. You do not need millions of followers. You do need taste, consistency, and proof you deliver.
Does it cost anything?
The stay is hosted; there is no fee to attend. You cover your own flights to Jamaica; ground transportation from MBJ, a $100 per day food credit, and hosted events are included. The exchange is simple: your stay for your work.
How does selection work?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We review your portfolio for visual consistency, engagement quality, and a clearly defined specialty, then hold a short conversation with shortlisted creators before confirming the cohort. Applications close when the cohort is filled.
Can I bring a partner or a second shooter?
Yes, and we love the idea. Many creators do their best work with a partner or a second shooter, and your plus one is welcome. The arrangement is simple and firm: your guest shares your room, your ground transportation, and your $100 per day food credit, and all additional costs are your responsibility. One more thing to know before you plan: the residency is an adults only experience. Every attendee must be 21 or older, no exceptions. This is not an event for children.
Can I shoot off property?
You certainly can. Negril gives you plenty to work with beyond our cliffs: a variety of interesting tourist venues, natural vistas, and of course the famous Seven Mile Beach, all just minutes away. Off property content adds wonderful range to your residency story. Our only ask is a simple one: please don’t shoot another hotel or feature another hotel’s restaurant while you’re with us.
How do I apply for The Cliff Creator Residency?
Through the short form on our
Apply page. It takes about five minutes: your name, your primary platform, your specialty, and one or two sentences on what you would make at The Cliff. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and close when the cohort is filled, so earlier is better.
Where is The Cliff Hotel and Spa located?
On the limestone cliffs of Negril’s West End, on the western tip of Jamaica, about 90 minutes by road from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ). The property faces due west over the Caribbean, which is why the sunset lands on it every single evening.
Is the residency a paid collaboration?
The residency is a hosted exchange rather than a paid campaign: your stay, airport transfer, food credit, and hosted events in exchange for original content. Creators keep full portfolio rights to their work, and many alumni have gone on to paid engagements with brands who discovered them through residency content.
Can I fly a drone during the residency?
Yes. Drone flight over our property is welcome, and Cohort One’s aerials of the coves and cliffs are some of the best work the residency has produced. Just tell us in advance so we can coordinate timing on property. If you plan to fly elsewhere in Jamaica, we encourage you to follow the existing local drone laws.
What is a Proof of Place shoot?
A complete visual story of a destination shot on location: rooms, food, grounds, experiences, and atmosphere, captured the way your audience actually experiences a place. It is the signature deliverable of the residency and a strong portfolio piece for pitching hotels and tourism brands.
